About the camp

The SBSC Camp has been running every year since 2017, steadily earning recognition in both the Hungarian and the international songwriting community. The idea behind it has always been simple: give composers, lyricists, and producers an inspiring, professional environment where creativity can flow freely and real, lasting professional relationships can take root.

What makes SBSC special is that it’s about more than writing new songs — although plenty of great ones are born here every year. It’s also a place to grow: to sharpen your songwriting and production skills in a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. Year after year, the Songbook team makes sure everyone can work under the best possible conditions, with reliable technical support, hands-on mentoring, and the kind of calm, focused vibe where the best ideas like to show up.

And here’s something we’re genuinely proud of: over the years, the camp has welcomed many artists who have since gone on to build remarkable careers — names you’ll now find on major stages, playlists, and charts. Some of them arrived as promising newcomers and left with the songs and connections that helped take them to the next level. Who knows — the next breakout star might be writing their first hit at this year’s camp.

THE PLACE

Let’s meet in the heart of Europe

The SBSC Camp takes place at the Petneházy Aparthotel, tucked away in the Buda Hills — one of the most serene corners of Budapest. It’s a true island of tranquillity: just a few minutes’ drive from the city, yet completely wrapped in nature. In other words, the perfect place to leave the everyday noise behind and let the songs take over.

Participants stay in comfortable wooden houses. After an inspiring day of songwriting, it’s exactly the kind of place where you can properly recharge. And yes, there’s a swimming pool — so if a morning swim is your favourite way to start the day, don’t forget to pack your swimsuit!
